Safe Environment Training is now available online! This new, convenient training takes less than one hour to complete. Your background check must still be mailed, but forms are available online and can be downloaded to your printer. Whether you need certification for the first time or need to be re-certified, you may access the new online training at www.shieldthevulnerable.org. You will be asked to create a user ID and password and then follow the registration steps for the Diocese of Owensboro. There is no charge for the training. The Diocese of Owensboro mandates that all adults who serve in ministries or programs which involve minor children must receive Safe Environment Certification and submit a background check.
